If you are using ZoomText 9.1 from AI Squared, we highly recommend installing this update to resolve any compatibility issues with Windows 7. It no longer crashed on videos, despite the zoom settings. In particular, the cursor doesn’t disappear anymore. After a fair amount of testing we found the problems to go away. Interestingly enough, the automatic updater in ZoomText 9.1 will not find any updates, saying your program is up to date. It is a free update that updates your ZoomText 9.1 to version 9.19. Through some digging I found an update on AI Squared’s website. There isn’t a whole lot of documentation out there as to why it does this. Even on 32 bit Windows 7, while it will appear to run you will experience intermittent lock ups (locking of the screen, crashing, cursor disappears, etc.). You have to install ZoomText 9.1 on Windows 7 x86 (32 bit).
There’s only one small problem, that being that out of the box, most revisions of ZoomText 9.1 are not 100% compatible with Windows 7 although according to AI Squared’s website it is.įor starters, ZoomText 9.1 is not compatible with Windows 7 64 bit at all. The zoom capabilities are vastly superior to Magnifier built into Windows 7 and the speech assistance ties in very well giving you voice assistance at every turn. ZoomText 9.1 is a program for the visually impaired that offers both speech assistance and screen magnification in a slick interface.
